Call To Support The Safe Climate Act

Earlier this year, Rep. Henry Waxman (CA) introduced the Safe Climate Act (H.R. 1590), a strong, comprehensive bill to limit global warming pollution to levels that current science says are needed to prevent the worst impacts of global warming. The bill would reduce total U.S. global warming emissions by about 15 percent by 2020 and 80 percent by 2050. To achieve these emission reductions, the bill calls for a greater reliance on clean, renewable energy and improved energy efficiency.

Please call your representative and ask him or her to cosponsor this important legislation. You can reach your Representative at 202-224-3121. If you don't know who your representative is, that's OK. Just tell the operator your zip code, and they will connect you.

Here's a sample message you can leave: "Hello, my name is ____ and I live in _____. I'm calling to urge Rep. _____ to cosponsor the Safe Climate Act (H.R. 1590), legislation that would set science-based limits on global warming pollution to prevent the worst effects of global warming."

Then, please report your call below so we can keep track of how many are being made.
