The Campaign to Make Textbooks Affordable teamed up with the University
College Student Governing Association and the New Jersey Public
Interest Research Group Student Chapters in an effort to gain 3000
student signatures to support a resolution to lower the costs of
textboobs.
The
campaign began Feb. 19 and in the first hour and a half, over 300
signatures were collected and the total thus far is over 1700.
According to campaign organizers, textbook prices have increased at
four times the rate of inflation between 1994 and 2005, and they urged
students to take "textbook matters into their own hands."
